If you are familiar with POKEMON and other similar card battle games you will easily pick up STRIFE.
There will be different game modes but the standard mode consists of two decks, one for each player. Each deck has 60 cards given that one full game set has 120 cards. As you set up your game you will have you 5 bench cards which will eventually be played in the active pile. Bench cards are a random selection from the draw pile and can be either, Characters, Aspect, or Support cards. If you play a character card you can also pair that with a support or aspect card which will provide increased damage or a unique attack.
You can win the game 2 ways:
1) Knock Out all of your opponent’s characters in play.
2) If your opponent has no cards in their deck at the beginning of their turn.

Support Card: Support cards provide unique power ups
Character Card: Each character card contains an identifier we call ASPECTS. Each aspect determines strength or weakness against opponents
Aspect Card: Aspect cards provide instant damage boost
